Fitting Ourselves to Flourish!

Psalm 92:13
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.

This Scripture reminds us that God is calling us not to simply function but to flourish in worship, ministry, and service to our community.  This building project will fit us with a facility that will enable us to share the gospel more effectively across the world and, at the same time, offer more programs to those in our community.  GOD IS FITTING US TO FLOURISH!

What is being proposed?

  • A two-phase building and renovation project
  • Phase 1 will be the building of a new life center where the current senior center is located.  Phase 1 will cost approximately $2 million.
  • Phase 2 will be a renovation of our current sanctuary.  Phase 2 will cost approximately $600,000.

What has been accomplished?

  • Reconstructed committees;
  • Hosted several meetings;
  • Brainstormed about various options;
  • Met with several architects;
  • Contracted with J&R Concepts for initial design;
  • Contracted with Raymond Hill Architects and Associates;
  • Received and revised renderings; and
  • Prayed, Prayed, Prayed!

What is the timeline?

  • Project Reveal September 1st  & 3rd  
  • Season of Prayer from September 4rd through September 24th 
  • Pledge Cards distribution on September 24th  
  • Pledge Cards returned on October 22nd  during the Church Anniversary Celebration
  • Capital Campaign begins October 22nd  

Will construction affect worship?

  • Construction is not expected to affect worship service until Phase 2.  Adjustments may need to be made for parking while Phase 1 is in place. 
  • During Phase 2, we will move worship to the new life center until renovations are complete. 

Who will be our funding partner?

  • The funding institution will be the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Corporation.
  • The faithful members and associates of our beloved congregation   

Who is giving leadership to this project?

  • The committee is being co-moderated by Trustee Connie Williams and Trustee Geroge Prioleau Jr.  The Senior Pastor sits as ex officio on the committee.
  • The entire project is facilitated by the Administration Ministry. 
  • The Session has final oversight.
